Old City of Quebec

Day 40 Continued: Chad and I transported the Volkswagen Jetta to France lol. We arrived in the Old City of Quebec and it was as if we were driving down the streets of France (tight corners and all!).
Parking: Under the City Hall building, Old Quebec

It was a wonderful adventure! It rained the whoooooolllllllleeeee time 😊

Poutine
We tried some poutine (unique because it was chopped little red potatoes, crisped and drenched in a really dark gravy) and walked around their little town spaces.

Rain Rain
The streets were filled with umbrellas and we walked around in a thought to be rain proof jackets. Chad's jacket has been worn so many times while hiking, the place where the backpack is held soaked through after about 2p minutes. I guess it was rubbed away? So, Chad was wet and my shoes were soaked (tennis shoes..meh).
Baklava
After a little while of checking out the streets, we ducked into a place with mountains of baklava ! They also made us a falafel gyro-thing. The flats bread was baked right there in an I with the falafel paste smeared on top. Wow. It was good.

Yes, we ate all of the baklava pieces .... they were yummy with the different kinds of nuts inside the pastry bread.

To end the adventure, we stopped at a cafe to try their crepes. We weren't super impressed (too thick and it tasted like a pancake ...), but it was drenched in maple syrup! That's Canadian, eh?

Crepes
The waiter was helpful as he tried to communicate in English with us (native from France) and Chad asked him about the difference between Quebec and actual France.

The guy mentioned he likes it here in Canada because people are way more friendly. That's great to hear !
Time for Bed
With the rain still going strong, we left the city behind and drove to a sleeping space about an hour away from Montreal.
Wal-Mart! Hello ! We parked next to a camper and feel asleep after watching a few 'fail videos' online for a few laughs. Night night!
