Lightening & Pouring Rain in Dallas

Day 6: Sleeping inside a building instead of a car was wonderful. It was a pleasure being able to walk to the bathroom right away in the morning instead of having to clean up the sleeping fort. Ah, the comforts of civilization.

Chad and Nnamdi entertained themselves through discussion while I started worked on the blog. Grey rain clouds began to roll in and shortly the room darkened as the first crack of lightening struck the sky. Sheets of rain pelted the little people ten stories below and the city noises damped as they were covered up by the natural noise of rain hitting the windows. Good thing we didn’t adventure out in the morning on foot.
The rain began to diminish and the honking horns, sirens and loud conversations of passing people began to drift back. Chad and Nnamdi left to walk to a local weekend market t snag breakfast, with the intension of bringing me back a bite to eat while I finish up the blog. This was the first time I have been alone for at least five days and the silence was restful.
When the guys came back, they didn’t have any yummies to share. Instead, they devised a plan for us to go to an all-we-can-eat Indian buffet. YUM. We hopped in our car and zig-zagged through downtown Dallas to reach the suburbs hosting the restaurant. I guess this place was voted best Indian restaurant in 2015 and the food was delish.

Mansion Villa

To help our full tummies digest, we drove around the suburbs surrounding Dallas and found ourselves in mansion villa. Street after street of large homes passed by and we were amazed by the varieties of architecture. Some of homes even had signs in their yard saying they had armed guards on the property. Wowza, that’s really intense if you think you need guards on your property.

We also made a trip to Barnes and Nobel and snooped around the book shelves. It was the largest one I have been into; it had escalators and the isles kept going. By now, we all are awake again from our heavy digesting session and were buzzing around on new energy.

Relaxing at Home

The evening was still cloudy, and our energy levels were lower, making it the perfect night for gaming (Borderlands 2) and watching a movie (Samurai X). What a great end to a rainy day! It’s been one of the most relaxing days since the start of the trip.
